Beginning in January of 2023 I will have a portrait studio at FARM Fruita. It is located in downtown Fruita, Colorado on the circle at 160 South Park SQ. Suite 119.
From the time you walk into my studio, it only takes about 20 minutes before you are watching your first image develop in the tray.
Yes, in my studio I use around 8000 watts of strobe lighting. For outdoor sessions, I depend on natural light. Because of this, these photos require longer exposure times. Depending on the available natural light, subjects must be able to sit still anywhere from 2 to 10 seconds.
YES! Small children and puppies can be challenging due to the longer exposure times but not always impossible. We'll give it a shot if conditions are favorable! In my studio I use strobes so the amount of time you have to sit still is greatly reduced.
No! Wear whatever you want but avoid white and really light colors. Because this process is mostly responsive to the UV light spectrum, some colors will translate differently in a tintype than in panchromatic B&W photos. Reds will be darker and blues will be much lighter. Also, because these are a direct positive, if you have any writing on your clothing, it will be backwards on the original but I can always turn it around in the digital copy if desired.
